John Dur was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Dur showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Dur's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue music seriously. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, displaying an exceptional ability to play complex pieces with ease. By the age of ten, Dur had already performed in several concerts and had won several local competitions. Dur's talent continued to flourish, and he went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under some of the most renowned pianists in the world, including Yo-Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax. Dur's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated with top honors. After graduating from Juilliard, Dur began performing in concerts around the world. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists of his generation, with his performances being praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. Dur's breakthrough performance came in 2008 when he performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. The concert was a huge success, with Dur receiving a standing ovation from the audience. The New York Times praised his performance, calling it "a stunning display of virtuosity and musicality."
