Sarah Kapustin is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist and chamber musician. Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1985, Kapustin began playing the violin at the age of five. Her parents, both professional musicians, recognized her talent early on and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Kapustin's early training was rigorous and demanding. She studied at the Moscow Central Music School, where she received instruction from some of the most respected violin teachers in Russia. She also participated in numerous competitions and festivals, winning several awards and accolades along the way. In 2003, Kapustin moved to the United States to continue her studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, she studied with renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman and chamber musician Sylvia Rosenberg. She also had the opportunity to perform in some of the city's most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Kapustin's talent and hard work paid off in 2007, when she won first prize at the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis. This competition is one of the most prestigious in the world, and Kapustin's victory cemented her reputation as one of the most promising young violinists of her generation. Since then, Kapustin has gone on to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras and conductors. She has appeared as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and many others. She has also collaborated with some of the most respected chamber musicians of our time, including pianist Emanuel Ax and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Kapustin's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, but she has also performed works by contemporary composers such as John Adams and Philip Glass. In addition to her performing career, Kapustin is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and she has given masterclasses around the world. Her students have gone on to win numerous awards and competitions, and many have become successful professional musicians in their own right. Throughout her career, Kapustin has received numerous awards and honors. In addition to her victory at the Indianapolis competition, she has been awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, and the S&R Washington Award. She has also been named a BBC New Generation Artist and a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Despite her many accomplishments, Kapustin remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to practice and perform regularly, always striving to improve and refine her skills. Her passion for music is evident in every note she plays, and her performances are a testament to the power and beauty of classical music.
