From the beginning, the Avalon Wind Quintet set out to push the boundaries of the wind quintet repertoire, seeking out new and challenging works to perform alongside the classics. Over the years, the Avalon Wind Quintet has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals in the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Ravinia Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival. They have also collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians and composers of our time, including Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw, and John Harbison. One of the highlights of the Avalon Wind Quintet's career was their performance at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where they played for an audience of millions around the world. They also performed at the White House in 2001, as part of a celebration of the music of John Williams.
