Lucy Shaw was born on May 15, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Lucy showed a keen interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Lucy's talent was quickly recognized, and she was accepted into the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School at the age of ten. She studied under the guidance of renowned cellists such as William Pleeth and Steven Isserlis, and her skills on the cello continued to develop. In 2003, Lucy was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She continued to excel in her studies and was awarded the prestigious Queen's Commendation for Excellence in 2007. Lucy's career as a professional musician began to take off in the early 2010s. She performed as a soloist with several major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
