Role:EnsembleCopenhagen Classic is a classical music ensemble based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The ensemble was founded in 2008 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for classical music and a desire to bring it to a wider audience. The founding members of Copenhagen Classic were violinist Christina Åstrand, cellist Toke Møldrup, and pianist Per Salo. All three musicians had already established themselves as soloists and chamber musicians in Denmark and abroad, and they brought their individual talents and experiences to the ensemble. From the beginning, Copenhagen Classic set out to explore the rich and diverse repertoire of classical music, from the Baroque era to the present day. The ensemble's performances were characterized by a high level of technical skill, musical sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the composers' intentions. One of the highlights of Copenhagen Classic's early years was their performance of Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in 2010. The ensemble's interpretation of this challenging work was praised for its clarity, precision, and emotional depth. In the years that followed, Copenhagen Classic continued to perform at major venues and festivals in Denmark and abroad, including the Tivoli Concert Hall, the Royal Danish Theatre, and the Bergen International Festival. The ensemble also collaborated with a wide range of musicians and artists, including the Danish String Quartet, the Danish National Vocal Ensemble, and the visual artist Olafur Eliasson. In 2015, Copenhagen Classic released their debut album, featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, and Ravel. The album received critical acclaim for its impeccable musicianship and the ensemble's ability to bring fresh insights to familiar repertoire. In addition to their performances and recordings, Copenhagen Classic has also been recognized for their contributions to the classical music scene in Denmark. In 2012, the ensemble received the prestigious P2 Prize from the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, which recognizes outstanding contributions to classical music in Denmark. Today, Copenhagen Classic continues to be one of the leading classical music ensembles in Denmark and beyond. The ensemble's current members include Christina Åstrand, Toke Møldrup, and pianist Marianna Shirinyan, who joined the ensemble in 2018. Looking to the future, Copenhagen Classic remains committed to exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of classical music and bringing it to audiences around the world. With their impeccable musicianship, deep understanding of the composers' intentions, and passion for their art, the ensemble is sure to continue to inspire and delight audiences for years to come.More....
