Role:EnsembleGioia Armonica is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in Italy and is known for its exceptional performances of Baroque and Classical music. The founding members of Gioia Armonica were violinist Federico Guglielmo, cellist Gaetano Nasillo, and harpsichordist Andrea Coen. All three musicians had extensive experience performing with other ensembles and orchestras, but they were drawn together by their shared love of chamber music and their desire to explore the rich repertoire of Baroque and Classical music. From the beginning, Gioia Armonica was committed to performing on period instruments, which are replicas of the instruments that were used during the Baroque and Classical periods. This approach allows the ensemble to recreate the sound and style of music from these periods with greater authenticity and nuance. One of the highlights of Gioia Armonica's early career was their performance at the prestigious Festival de Musique Baroque de Pontoise in France in 2013. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their performance of works by Vivaldi, Corelli, and Handel, and they were invited back to the festival the following year. Since then, Gioia Armonica has performed at major festivals and concert halls throughout Europe, including the Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, the Festival de Musique Ancienne de Callas in France, and the Wigmore Hall in London. The ensemble has also collaborated with renowned soloists such as countertenor Andreas Scholl and soprano Roberta Invernizzi. In addition to their live performances, Gioia Armonica has released several recordings that have received widespread critical acclaim. Their debut album, "La Follia," features works by Vivaldi, Corelli, and Geminiani, and was praised for its "exquisite playing" and "impeccable ensemble work" by Gramophone magazine. Another notable recording by Gioia Armonica is their album "Bach: The Art of Fugue," which features Bach's monumental work for keyboard in a transcription for string trio and harpsichord. The album was praised for its "clarity and precision" by BBC Music Magazine and was named one of the best classical albums of the year by The Guardian. Gioia Armonica has also been recognized with several awards and honors for their outstanding performances and recordings. In 2015, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or for their recording of Bach's "The Art of Fugue," and in 2017 they received the Echo Klassik award for their album "Vivaldi: La Stravaganza." Today, Gioia Armonica continues to be one of the most respected and admired classical music ensembles in Europe. Their commitment to performing on period instruments and their exceptional musicianship have earned them a devoted following and critical acclaim from audiences and critics alike.More....
