Robert Auler is a renowned classical pianist and professor of music at SUNY Oswego. Born in 1975 in Syracuse, New York, Auler began playing the piano at the age of five. He showed a natural talent for music and quickly became a prodigy, winning his first competition at the age of eight. Auler continued to hone his skills throughout his childhood and teenage years, studying with some of the most respected piano teachers in the country. He attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. He then went on to earn his Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York City. After completing his studies, Auler began performing professionally, quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most talented young pianists in the country. He has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. Auler has also won numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2001, he was named a finalist in the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. He has also won the William Kapell International Piano Competition, the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, and the Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition. In addition to his performing career, Auler is also a respected educator. He has taught at SUNY Oswego since 2003, where he is currently a professor of music. He is known for his innovative teaching methods and his ability to inspire his students to achieve their full potential. Throughout his career, Auler has been committed to promoting classical music and making it accessible to a wider audience. He has performed in numerous outreach concerts, bringing classical music to schools, community centers, and other venues throughout the country. He has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of the complete piano works of Maurice Ravel. Despite his many accomplishments, Auler remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
