Artist Info

Ssens Trio is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012. The trio consists of three members: pianist Sun-A Park, violinist Sang Mee Lee, and cellist Eunghee Cho. The ensemble is known for their dynamic and expressive performances, which have earned them critical acclaim and numerous awards. The founding of Ssens Trio was the result of a shared passion for classical music among the three members. Sun-A Park, Sang Mee Lee, and Eunghee Cho had all studied music at prestigious institutions and had established successful careers as soloists and chamber musicians. However, they were drawn together by a desire to explore the unique possibilities of the piano trio format. The name "Ssens" is derived from the Korean word for "line," which reflects the trio's commitment to creating a seamless and cohesive musical experience. The ensemble's repertoire includes works by classical composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert, as well as contemporary pieces by living composers. One of the highlights of Ssens Trio's career was their performance at the 2014 Seoul Spring Festival of Chamber Music. The festival is one of the most prestigious classical music events in Korea, and the trio's performance was widely praised for its technical precision and emotional depth. The trio has also performed at other major venues and festivals around the world, including the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland. In addition to their live performances, Ssens Trio has also released several critically acclaimed recordings. Their debut album, "Beethoven Piano Trios," was released in 2015 and received rave reviews for its sensitive and nuanced interpretations of Beethoven's works. The trio's second album, "Brahms Piano Trios," was released in 2017 and was similarly well-received. Ssens Trio has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors throughout their career. In 2013, they were awarded the Grand Prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan. The following year, they won the First Prize at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in Norway. These awards helped to establish Ssens Trio as one of the most exciting and talented classical music ensembles of their generation. Despite their success, Ssens Trio remains committed to exploring new musical territory and pushing the boundaries of the piano trio format. They continue to perform and record new works by contemporary composers, and are dedicated to sharing their love of classical music with audiences around the world.
