Rudolf was also a prolific recording artist, and he recorded many of the great works of the piano repertoire, including the complete piano sonatas of Beethoven, the complete piano concertos of Mozart, and the complete piano works of Schumann. His recordings were widely praised for their technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. In addition to his career as a pianist, Rudolf was also a respected teacher and mentor.
