Role:Conductor PerformerMaria Ferré was born on May 12, 1985, in Madrid, Spain. She was born into a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned classical guitarist and her mother a pianist. From a young age, Maria was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Maria's talent for music was evident from a young age, and she began performing in public at the age of six. She quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy, and by the age of ten, she had won several national and international piano competitions. In 1996, Maria was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. During her time at Juilliard, Maria continued to win numerous awards and competitions, including the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the International Tchaikovsky Competition. After graduating from Juilliard in 2006, Maria embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Maria's most memorable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2008. She performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt to critical acclaim, with The New York Times describing her playing as "virtuosic and deeply expressive." Maria has also been recognized for her recordings, with her album of Chopin's complete Nocturnes receiving widespread praise. The album was named "Best Classical Album of the Year" by Gramophone magazine and was nominated for a Grammy Award. In addition to her performing career, Maria is also a dedicated teacher.
