Ensemble Romantica is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 in Paris, France. The ensemble is known for its passionate and expressive performances of Romantic-era music, as well as its innovative programming that combines classical works with contemporary pieces. The founding members of Ensemble Romantica were violinist Marie-Claire Durand, cellist Jean-Pierre Dubois, and pianist François Leclerc. All three musicians had extensive experience performing in various orchestras and chamber groups, and they shared a deep love for the music of the Romantic era. From the beginning, Ensemble Romantica set out to create a unique sound that blended the individual voices of its members into a cohesive whole. They spent countless hours rehearsing and refining their interpretations of works by composers such as Brahms, Schumann, and Chopin, striving to capture the emotional intensity and lyrical beauty of the music. One of the ensemble's early highlights was a performance at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris in 2007. The concert featured works by Brahms and Schumann, as well as a new piece by French composer Thierry Escaich that was commissioned by Ensemble Romantica. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and it helped to establish the ensemble as one of the most exciting new groups on the classical music scene. Over the years, Ensemble Romantica has continued to push the boundaries of classical music performance, exploring new ways to connect with audiences and bring the music of the Romantic era to life. They have collaborated with a wide range of artists, including dancers, visual artists, and poets, and they have performed in venues ranging from small chamber halls to large concert halls and festivals. One of the ensemble's most memorable performances was a concert at the Salle Pleyel in Paris in 2012. The program featured works by Chopin, Schumann, and Liszt, as well as a new piece by American composer John Adams. The concert was recorded and released as a live album, which received widespread critical acclaim and helped to further raise the profile of Ensemble Romantica. In addition to their performances, Ensemble Romantica has also been recognized for their recordings. Their debut album, which featured works by Brahms and Schumann, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009, and their subsequent albums have also received critical acclaim. Throughout their career, Ensemble Romantica has remained committed to their mission of bringing the music of the Romantic era to new audiences. They have performed in schools and community centers, and they have worked to develop educational programs that introduce young people to classical music. Today, Ensemble Romantica continues to be one of the most exciting and innovative classical music ensembles in the world. With their passionate performances, innovative programming, and commitment to education and outreach, they are helping to ensure that the music of the Romantic era remains relevant and inspiring for generations to come.More....
