He was born on December 23, 1978, in Florence, Italy, into a family of musicians. His father, Carlo Ceccanti, was a renowned cellist, and his mother, Maria Grazia, was a pianist. Duccio grew up in a musical environment and started playing the violin at the age of four. Duccio's talent was evident from a young age, and he quickly became a prodigy. He received his first violin lessons from his father and later studied with renowned violinists such as Salvatore Accardo, Pavel Vernikov, and Zakhar Bron.
