Grazia Colarescu is a Romanian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on December 22, 1987, in Bucharest, Romania, Grazia showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She was enrolled in the George Enescu Music School in Bucharest, where she received her formal training in piano performance. Grazia's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and she quickly became a standout student at the George Enescu Music School. She won numerous awards and competitions, including first prize at the National Piano Competition in Romania in 2001 and 2003, and the Grand Prize at the International Piano Competition in Bucharest in 2004. In 2005, Grazia was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she continued her studies under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky. During her time at Juilliard, Grazia continued to excel in her studies and performances, earning numerous awards and accolades. She was a recipient of the Kovner Fellowship, the highest honor awarded to students at Juilliard, and was also awarded the Arthur Rubinstein Prize in Piano Performance. Grazia's performances have taken her to some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of Grazia's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2010, where she performed a solo recital to critical acclaim. The New York Times praised her performance, stating that "Ms. Colarescu's playing was marked by a combination of technical brilliance and musical sensitivity that is rare in a pianist of any age." In addition to her solo performances, Grazia is also an accomplished chamber musician and has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. She has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Chopin's complete Nocturnes. Grazia's musical interpretations are known for their depth and emotional intensity. She has a particular affinity for the music of Chopin, and her performances of his works are considered some of the best in the world. She is also known for her interpretations of the music of Beethoven, Schumann, and Liszt.
