Frank Ernst was born on May 15, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, and his parents were both professional classical musicians. His father was a renowned cellist, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Frank showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Frank began his musical education at the age of four, when he started taking piano lessons from his mother. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument, and by the age of six, he was already performing in public. At the age of eight, he started studying the violin, and he soon became proficient in both instruments. Frank's parents recognized his talent and dedication to music, and they decided to enroll him in the Vienna Conservatory of Music. There, he received formal training in both piano and violin, and he quickly became one of the top students in his class. He also began to compose his own music, and his compositions were well-received by his teachers and fellow students. In 2003, Frank graduated from the Vienna Conservatory of Music with top honors. He then went on to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he continued to hone his skills as a pianist and violinist. While at Juilliard, Frank also began to explore other genres of music, including jazz and rock. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Frank began to perform professionally as a soloist and chamber musician. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and versatile musicians of his generation, and he was soon in high demand as a performer. One of Frank's most memorable performances was at the 2010 Salzburg Festival, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was widely praised by critics, who hailed Frank's virtuosity and musicality. In addition to his performances as a soloist, Frank also became known for his work as a chamber musician. He formed a number of successful partnerships with other musicians, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Joshua Bell. Together, they performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Throughout his career, Frank has received numerous awards and accolades for his musical achievements. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music.
