Geori Boue was a French classical music artist who was born on December 16, 1918, in Toulouse, France. She was the daughter of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her father was her first music teacher, and she started playing the piano at the age of four. She showed a natural talent for music, and her parents encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Boue's musical education began at the Toulouse Conservatory, where she studied piano, solfeggio, and harmony. She later moved to Paris to continue her studies at the Conservatoire de Paris, where she studied under the tutelage of Marguerite Long, a renowned French pianist. Boue's talent was quickly recognized, and she won several awards and prizes during her time at the conservatory. In 1943, Boue made her debut as a concert pianist at the Salle Gaveau in Paris. Her performance was well-received, and she quickly gained a reputation as a talented and skilled pianist. She went on to perform in many prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. Boue was known for her interpretations of the works of French composers, particularly Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. She was also a champion of contemporary music and premiered many works by contemporary composers. Boue was a versatile musician who played both solo and chamber music, and she collaborated with many other musicians throughout her career. One of Boue's most significant achievements was her performance of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1955. Her performance was widely praised, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. Boue went on to perform the concerto with many other orchestras around the world, cementing her reputation as one of the world's leading interpreters of Ravel's music. Boue was also a prolific recording artist, and she recorded many of her performances for posterity. Her recordings of Ravel's music are particularly well-regarded, and they continue to be popular with classical music enthusiasts today. Throughout her career, Boue received many awards and honors for her contributions to classical music. In 1953, she was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque for her recording of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major.
