The trio consists of three members: violinist Friedemann Eichhorn, cellist Claudius Herrmann, and pianist Paul Rivinius. Friedemann Eichhorn was born in 1972 in Heidelberg, Germany. He began playing the violin at the age of six and went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt and the Juilliard School in New York. He has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal and the International Violin Competition in Buenos Aires. Claudius Herrmann was born in 1969 in Stuttgart, Germany. He began playing the cello at the age of six and went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart and the Juilliard School in New York. He has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Cello Competition in Markneukirchen and the International Cello Competition in Helsinki. Paul Rivinius was born in 1963 in Stuttgart, Germany. He began playing the piano at the age of six and went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart and the Juilliard School in New York. He has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia and the International Piano Competition in Pretoria. The Stuttgart Piano Trio has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. They have appeared at major music festivals, including the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Rheingau Musik Festival, and the Salzburg Festival. They have also performed at prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Wigmore Hall in London.
