Francis Tursi was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Tursi showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Tursi's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. Tursi's talent was evident from an early age, and he began performing in public at the age of six. As a teenager, Tursi continued to hone his skills and began studying with some of the most renowned pianists in the world. He attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of Yoheved Kaplinsky. He has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, and Simon Rattle. In 2008, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise.
