She was born into a family of musicians, and her father, Alfred Schnittke, was a renowned composer. Irina began playing the piano at a young age and showed great talent and passion for music. At the age of 16, Irina entered the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Vera Gornostaeva. She quickly became one of the most promising students in the school and won several awards for her performances. After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory, Irina continued her studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev, Ukraine. There, she studied under the guidance of Professor Valery Kozlov and continued to hone her skills as a pianist. In 1985, Irina won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy. This was a major achievement for her and helped to launch her career as a professional pianist. Over the years, Irina has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. She has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to her performances, Irina has also recorded several albums, including works by her father, Alfred Schnittke, as well as works by other composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.
