Born in Tokyo, Japan, on December 12, 1973, Naoko showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of three. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Naoko's musical journey began when she enrolled at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Hiroko Nakamura. She later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance. Throughout her career, Naoko has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. She has also collaborated with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Seiji Ozawa, Leonard Slatkin, and Michael Tilson Thomas. One of Naoko's most notable performances was her debut with the New York Philharmonic in 1995, where she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was praised for her technical skill and emotional depth. Naoko has also won numerous awards throughout her career, including the first prize at the 1994 Japan Music Competition, the first prize at the 1995 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and the first prize at the 1997 Martha Argerich International Piano Competition in Buenos Aires.
