Julie Berthollet is a French classical music artist who was born on December 20, 1997, in Lyon, France. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. Julie started playing the violin at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for music. At the age of nine, Julie was accepted into the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, where she studied under the guidance of professors such as Marie-Annick Nicolas and Pavel Vernikov. She also studied at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. In 2013, Julie won the first prize at the International Competition for Young Violinists in Romania, which marked the beginning of her career as a professional musician. She then went on to win several other awards, including the first prize at the International Competition for Young Musicians in Estonia in 2014 and the first prize at the International Competition for Young Soloists in Slovakia in 2015. Julie's breakthrough came in 2016 when she won the French television show "Prodiges," which is a talent competition for young classical musicians. Her performance of Saint-Saëns' Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso on the show went viral and garnered millions of views on YouTube. This led to her signing a recording contract with Warner Classics and the release of her debut album, "Julie," in 2017. Since then, Julie has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Fabien Gabel, and Jean-Claude Casadesus. In addition to her solo career, Julie is also a member of the Berthollet Ensemble, which she formed with her brother, cellist Camille Berthollet, and pianist Guillaume Vincent. The trio has released two albums, "Entre 2" in 2018 and "Souvenirs" in 2020. Julie's repertoire includes works by composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Ravel.
