Anthony Field is a renowned Australian musician, best known as the founder and member of the popular children's music group, The Wiggles. Born on May 8, 1963, in Sydney, Australia, Field grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His mother, Marie Field, was a music teacher, and his father, John Field, was a musician and composer. Field's interest in music began at the age of four when he started playing the drums. He later learned to play the guitar and the piano. In his teenage years, Field formed a band called The Cockroaches with his brothers, Paul and John. The band gained popularity in Australia and released several albums. In 1991, Field founded The Wiggles, a children's music group that became a global phenomenon. The group's music was aimed at young children and featured catchy tunes and colorful characters. Field played the blue Wiggle and was known for his energetic performances and playful personality. The Wiggles released their first album in 1991, which was a huge success in Australia. The group went on to release several more albums and became popular in other countries, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The Wiggles also had their own television show, which aired in Australia and other countries. Field's contributions to The Wiggles were not limited to his musical talents. He was also responsible for creating the group's iconic costumes and designing their sets. Field's creativity and attention to detail helped make The Wiggles one of the most successful children's music groups of all time. In addition to his work with The Wiggles, Field has also released several solo albums. His first solo album, "Let's Have a Ceilidh," was released in 1998 and featured traditional Scottish music. Field's other solo albums include "Celtic Tiger" and "The John Field Band." Field's contributions to music have been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2009, he was awarded the Order of Australia for his services to the arts and entertainment industry. The Wiggles have also won numerous awards, including several ARIA Awards, which are the Australian equivalent of the Grammy Awards. Despite his success in the music industry, Field has faced several challenges in his personal life. He has struggled with depression and addiction, which he has been open about in interviews and in his autobiography, "How I Got My Wiggle Back." Field's struggles have inspired him to become an advocate for mental health awareness and to help others who are facing similar challenges. In 2012, Field announced that he would be retiring from The Wiggles due to health issues. However, he later returned to the group in a limited capacity and continues to perform with them on occasion. Field's contributions to The Wiggles and to the music industry as a whole have made him a beloved figure in Australia and around the world.
