Emilia Maximova is a Bulgarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on May 22, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Maximova showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both musicians, recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Maximova's early musical education was at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where she studied with renowned Bulgarian pianist and pedagogue, Stella Dimitrova. She continued her studies at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Professor Milena Mollova. In 2007, Maximova moved to the United States to pursue further studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. There, she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue, Boris Slutsky, and earned a Master's degree in Piano Performance. She also received the prestigious Yale Gordon Concerto Competition Award, which allowed her to perform with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra. Maximova's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2008, she won the First Prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York City. She was also a finalist in the 2010 International Piano Competition "Parnassos" in Monterrey, Mexico, and the 2011 International Piano Competition "Ciudad de Albacete" in Spain. One of Maximova's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2010. The concert, which was part of the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition Winners' Concert Series, featured works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt.
