Los Otros is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 by three talented musicians, all of whom shared a passion for classical music and a desire to create something unique and special. The ensemble is made up of violinist Maria, cellist Juan, and pianist Carlos, all of whom are highly skilled and accomplished musicians in their own right. Maria, Juan, and Carlos first met while studying at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. They quickly became friends and began playing together in various chamber music groups and ensembles. However, they soon realized that they shared a special chemistry and musical connection that was rare and valuable. They decided to form their own ensemble, which they named Los Otros, meaning "the others" in Spanish, to reflect their desire to create something different and outside of the mainstream. From the beginning, Los Otros set out to explore a wide range of classical music styles and genres, from Baroque to contemporary. They also sought to incorporate elements of other musical traditions, such as jazz and folk music, into their performances. This eclectic approach quickly earned them a reputation as one of the most innovative and exciting classical music ensembles in the world. Los Otros has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Salzburg Festival. They have also collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians and composers of our time, including Yo-Yo Ma, John Williams, and Philip Glass. One of the highlights of Los Otros' career was their performance at the 2018 Nobel Prize Concert in Stockholm, Sweden. They were invited to perform alongside the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Gustavo Dudamel, in honor of the Nobel Prize laureates in physics, chemistry, and medicine. The concert was broadcast live to millions of viewers around the world and received widespread critical acclaim. Los Otros has also received numerous awards and accolades for their performances and recordings. They have won several Grammy Awards, including Best Chamber Music Performance and Best Classical Instrumental Solo. They have also been recognized by the International Classical Music Awards, the BBC Music Magazine Awards, and the Echo Klassik Awards. Despite their success and acclaim, Los Otros remains committed to their original vision of creating innovative and boundary-pushing classical music. They continue to explore new styles and genres, and to collaborate with other musicians and artists from around the world. Their passion and dedication to their craft have made them one of the most exciting and inspiring classical music ensembles of our time.
