Laurent Cuniot is a French composer and conductor who has made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Born on December 22, 1960, in Paris, France, Cuniot grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a composer and his mother was a pianist, which exposed him to music at a young age. Cuniot began playing the piano at the age of six and later learned to play the violin and the guitar. Cuniot studied music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he received a degree in composition. He also studied conducting with Pierre Boulez and Peter Eötvös. During his time at the conservatory, Cuniot was awarded several prizes, including the Prix de Composition and the Prix de la SACEM.
