At the age of ten, he won his first piano competition, and by the age of twelve, he had already performed in several concerts. Geraint continued to study music throughout his teenage years, attending the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. He studied under some of the most renowned piano teachers in the country, including Peter Donohoe and John Lill. During this time, he also began to develop an interest in conducting and began taking lessons in this field as well. In 1997, Geraint graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a degree in piano performance. He then went on to study conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he was mentored by Sir Colin Davis. During this time, he also began to perform as a soloist and conductor, gaining recognition for his talent and skill. Geraint's career as a classical music artist took off in the early 2000s when he began to perform with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. He made his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2001, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. This performance was met with critical acclaim, and Geraint was praised for his technical skill and musicality. Over the next few years, Geraint continued to perform with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic. He also began to conduct more frequently, leading performances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In 2005, Geraint was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. This award cemented his reputation as one of the most talented classical music artists of his generation. Throughout his career, Geraint was known for his passionate and expressive performances. He was particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. He was also known for his commitment to contemporary music, often performing works by living composers. Geraint's career was tragically cut short when he passed away in 2010 at the age of 34.
