The choir was founded in 2002 by its conductor, David Ogden, who had previously been the director of music at Clifton College in Bristol. The choir has since grown to become one of the most respected and accomplished choirs in the UK, with a reputation for excellence in both performance and recording. The choir's name, Exultate Singers, comes from the Latin word "exultate," which means "rejoice." This name reflects the choir's mission to bring joy and inspiration to audiences through their performances of classical choral music. From its early days, Exultate Singers has been committed to performing a wide range of choral music, from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works.
