Trio Diaghilev is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2009. The ensemble is named after Sergei Diaghilev, a Russian impresario who was known for his work with the Ballets Russes. The trio consists of three members: violinist Sergey Malov, cellist Alexander Buzlov, and pianist Dmitry Masleev. Sergey Malov was born in Novosibirsk, Russia in 1986. He began playing the violin at the age of five and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory. Malov has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in 2002 and the International Violin Competition in Kloster Schöntal in 2004. Alexander Buzlov was born in Moscow, Russia in 1985. He began playing the cello at the age of six and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory. Buzlov has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in 2002 and the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007. Dmitry Masleev was born in Ulan-Ude, Russia in 1988. He began playing the piano at the age of six and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory. Masleev has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015. The trio first performed together in 2009 and quickly gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship. They have performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. One of the trio's most notable performances was at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition. They performed Tchaikovsky's Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50 and received a standing ovation from the audience. The trio was awarded the Grand Prix and the Gold Medal at the competition. In 2013, Trio Diaghilev released their debut album, which featured works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Shostakovich. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Grammy Award. The trio has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Russian National Orchestra. They have worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Jurowski, and Yuri Temirkanov. In addition to their performances, Trio Diaghilev is also committed to music education. They have conducted masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Trio Diaghilev continues to be one of the most sought-after classical music ensembles in the world. Their exceptional musicianship and commitment to music education have earned them a place among the greats of classical music.
