From a young age, Tisi showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of six. As he grew older, Tisi became increasingly interested in classical music and began studying the cello. He quickly became a skilled cellist and began performing in local orchestras and ensembles. In 1980, he was accepted into the prestigious Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, where he studied under the renowned cellist Antonio Janigro. After completing his studies, Tisi began performing professionally as a soloist and chamber musician. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented cellists of his generation, and his performances were praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. Throughout his career, Tisi has performed with some of the world's most renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's most celebrated conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Muti. One of Tisi's most memorable performances was his 1992 debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He performed a program of works by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms, and received a standing ovation from the audience. The New York Times praised his performance, calling it "a stunning display of virtuosity and musicality." In addition to his performances as a soloist, Tisi is also a dedicated chamber musician. He has performed with many of the world's most renowned chamber ensembles, including the Guarneri Quartet and the Emerson Quartet. He is also a founding member of the Trio di Milano, which has been praised for its innovative programming and virtuosic performances.
