Artist Info
RossoPorpora is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 in Italy. The ensemble is known for its unique approach to classical music, which combines traditional and contemporary elements to create a sound that is both innovative and timeless. The founding members of RossoPorpora were four musicians who shared a passion for classical music and a desire to explore new ways of interpreting it. These musicians were violinist Marco Fornaciari, cellist Francesco Dillon, pianist Emanuele Torquati, and clarinetist Paolo Ravaglia. Together, they formed RossoPorpora and began to develop their distinctive sound. One of the key features of RossoPorpora's approach to classical music is their use of improvisation. While classical music is often seen as rigid and structured, RossoPorpora believes that improvisation can bring new life to old compositions. They also incorporate elements of jazz and other genres into their performances, creating a sound that is both familiar and fresh. Over the years, RossoPorpora has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Italy and around the world. They have also collaborated with a wide range of musicians and artists, including dancers, visual artists, and poets. Some of their most notable performances include a concert at the Venice Biennale in 2011 and a performance at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 2014. In addition to their live performances, RossoPorpora has also released several albums. Their debut album, "RossoPorpora," was released in 2010 and received critical acclaim. The album features a mix of classical and contemporary compositions, including works by Bach, Beethoven, and Stravinsky. RossoPorpora has also been recognized for their contributions to classical music. In 2012, they were awarded the Premio Abbiati, which is one of the most prestigious awards in the Italian classical music world. The award recognized RossoPorpora's innovative approach to classical music and their ability to bring new audiences to the genre. Despite their success, RossoPorpora remains committed to exploring new ways of interpreting classical music. They continue to experiment with improvisation and collaboration, and they are always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of the genre. Through their music, they hope to inspire others to see classical music in a new light and to appreciate its timeless beauty.More....
