Orchestre Paul Kuenst is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1997 in Strasbourg, France. The ensemble is named after its founder and conductor, Paul Kuenst, who is a renowned French conductor and composer. Paul Kuenst was born in 1952 in Strasbourg, France. He began his musical career as a pianist and later studied conducting at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. He has conducted many orchestras in France and abroad, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the Orchestre National de Lorraine, and the Orchestre National de Montpellier. In 1997, Paul Kuenst founded his own ensemble, Orchestre Paul Kuenst, with the aim of promoting classical music in the Alsace region of France. The ensemble consists of around 50 musicians, including some of the best instrumentalists in the region. Orchestre Paul Kuenst has performed in many prestigious venues in France and abroad, including the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. The ensemble has also collaborated with many renowned soloists, including pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, violinist Renaud Capuçon, and cellist Gautier Capuçon. One of the highlights of Orchestre Paul Kuenst's career was its performance at the 2007 Proms in London. The ensemble performed a program of French music, including works by Debussy, Ravel, and Saint-Saëns. The performance was highly acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, and helped to raise the profile of the ensemble internationally.
