Mara Galassi is a renowned Italian harpist and musicologist who has made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Born in Milan in 1965, Galassi began her musical journey at a young age, studying the harp with renowned harpist Alice Giles. She later went on to study at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan, where she received her diploma in harp performance. Galassi's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she began to receive recognition for her work. In 1987, she won first prize at the International Harp Competition in Israel, which helped to launch her career as a soloist. She went on to perform with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.
