The Danish Radio Concert Orchestra, also known as the DR SymfoniOrkestret, is a classical music ensemble based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The orchestra was founded in 1925 as part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, which was established to provide radio broadcasts to the Danish public. Since then, the orchestra has become one of the most prominent and respected ensembles in Denmark and has gained international recognition for its performances and recordings. The founding of the Danish Radio Concert Orchestra was a response to the growing popularity of classical music in Denmark in the early 20th century.
