He was the youngest of three siblings and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. His father was a pianist, and his mother was a singer, and they both encouraged Lino to pursue his musical interests from a young age. Lino began his musical training at the age of six, when he started taking piano lessons. He showed a natural talent for the instrument and quickly progressed, impressing his teachers with his technical ability and musicality. By the time he was a teenager, Lino had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining a reputation as a prodigious young talent. In 1968, Lino was accepted into the prestigious Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music, where he studied under the renowned pianist and composer, Joaquín Rodrigo. Rodrigo was impressed by Lino's talent and took him under his wing, mentoring him and helping him to develop his skills as a pianist and musician. During his time at the conservatory, Lino also began to explore other areas of classical music, including composition and conducting. In 1975, Lino was invited to perform at the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Russia. The competition was one of the most prestigious in the world, and Lino was one of only a handful of Spanish musicians to ever be invited to participate. Despite the intense competition, Lino performed brilliantly, impressing the judges with his technical skill and musicality. He was awarded the third prize in the piano category, cementing his reputation as one of the most talented young musicians in the world. Following his success at the Tchaikovsky Competition, Lino's career continued to flourish. He performed in concerts and recitals throughout Europe and the United States, collaborating with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras in the world. In 1982, Lino was invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City, one of the most iconic concert venues in the world. The performance was a resounding success, with Lino receiving a standing ovation from the audience and critical acclaim from music critics. Throughout his career, Lino was also a prolific composer, writing numerous works for piano, orchestra, and chamber ensembles. His compositions were known for their emotional depth and technical complexity, and many of them were performed by some of the most renowned musicians and orchestras in the world. In recognition of his contributions to classical music, Lino received numerous awards and honors throughout his career.
