Ivan Urbas was born on May 12, 1985, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Ivan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Ivan was enrolled in the Ljubljana Music School, where he received his formal training in classical piano. He quickly excelled in his studies and was soon recognized as a prodigious talent. At the age of 12, he won his first national piano competition, and by the age of 16, he had already performed in several major concert halls across Europe. In 2003, Ivan was accepted into the prestigious Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. He has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of Ivan's most notable performances was his rendition of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, which he performed with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2010. The performance was widely praised by critics and cemented Ivan's reputation as one of the world's leading pianists. In addition to his performances as a soloist, Ivan is also an accomplished chamber musician.
