He was born into a family of musicians, and his father was a well-known conductor and composer. Polacco showed an interest in music from a young age and began studying the piano at the age of six. Polacco's talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly became a prodigy. He made his debut as a pianist at the age of nine, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor with the Trieste Symphony Orchestra. This performance was a huge success, and it marked the beginning of Polacco's career as a classical music artist. Polacco continued to study the piano throughout his childhood and teenage years, and he went on to attend the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Tartini in Trieste.
