Born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1947, Indjic showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a prodigious talent, winning his first competition at the age of nine and making his debut with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of twelve. Indjic continued his studies at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with legendary pianist and teacher Emil Gilels. Under Gilels' tutelage, Indjic honed his technique and developed a deep understanding of the music he played. He also had the opportunity to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic and the Leningrad Philharmonic. After completing his studies in Moscow, Indjic moved to Paris, where he continued to perform and teach. He quickly established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation, earning critical acclaim for his performances of works by Chopin, Liszt, and other Romantic composers. He also became known for his interpretations of the music of Debussy and Ravel, which he approached with a sensitivity and nuance that won him many admirers. Throughout his career, Indjic has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, including Leonard Bernstein, Claudio Abbado, and Seiji Ozawa. In addition to his work as a performer, Indjic has also been a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Paris Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the New England Conservatory in Boston. He has also given masterclasses around the world, sharing his insights and expertise with the next generation of pianists.
