Quatuor Élysée is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2015 in Paris, France. The group consists of four members: violinists Sarah Chenaf and Elise Liu, violist Justine Metral, and cellist Laura Lefebvre. The ensemble has quickly gained recognition for their dynamic performances and unique interpretations of classical music. The founding members of Quatuor Élysée met while studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. They quickly bonded over their shared passion for chamber music and decided to form a quartet. The group took its name from the Greek mythological paradise, Elysium, which represents a place of happiness and harmony. Quatuor Élysée has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salle Cortot, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. They have also been invited to perform at numerous festivals, such as the Festival de Musique de Menton and the Festival de Pâques d'Aix-en-Provence. One of the highlights of Quatuor Élysée's career was their performance at the 2017 Festival de Musique de Menton. The group was invited to perform Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with one reviewer describing it as "a stunning interpretation that captured the emotional depth and complexity of Beethoven's masterpiece." The following year, they were awarded the Prix de la Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca, which is awarded to young musicians who have made significant contributions to the field of classical music. Quatuor Élysée is known for their innovative approach to classical music.
