Les Solistes de Liège is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1987 in Liège, Belgium. The ensemble was created by a group of musicians who shared a passion for chamber music and wanted to create a platform to showcase their talents. The founding members of the ensemble were Jean-Pierre Peuvion, Jean-Pierre Borboux, and Jean-Pierre Haeck. The ensemble's main members have changed over the years, but the core of the group has remained the same. The current members of Les Solistes de Liège are Jean-Pierre Peuvion (flute), Jean-Pierre Borboux (clarinet), Jean-Pierre Haeck (bassoon), Jean-Pierre Collignon (horn), and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden (piano). Les Solistes de Liège has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, and the Wigmore Hall in London. The ensemble has also performed at numerous festivals, including the Festival de Wallonie, the Festival de Saintes, and the Festival de La Roque d'Anthéron. One of the highlights of Les Solistes de Liège's career was their performance at the 1994 Salzburg Festival. The ensemble performed Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat major, K. 452, with pianist Maria João Pires. The performance was widely praised by critics and helped to establish Les Solistes de Liège as one of the leading chamber music ensembles in Europe. Les Solistes de Liège has also been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout their career. In 1991, the ensemble won the Prix de la Critique Musicale Belge for their recording of Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat major, K. 452. In 1995, they were awarded the Prix de l'Académie Royale de Belgique for their contribution to the promotion of Belgian music. In addition to their performances and recordings, Les Solistes de Liège is also committed to music education.
