Jacques Loeillet was a prominent Baroque composer and musician who lived during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1685, into a family of musicians. His father, Jean Baptiste Loeillet, was a well-known composer and flutist, and his brothers, Jean-Baptiste Loeillet de Gant and Jean-Baptiste Loeillet de London, were also accomplished musicians. Jacques Loeillet began his musical education at a young age, studying with his father and his older brothers. He showed great talent as a flutist and composer, and by the age of 20, he had already established himself as a respected musician in his hometown of Ghent. In 1705, Loeillet moved to Paris, where he continued his musical studies and began to establish himself as a composer. He quickly gained a reputation as a skilled composer of chamber music, and his works were performed in the salons of the French aristocracy. In 1708, Loeillet moved to London, where he became a member of the court orchestra of Queen Anne.
