Sedmara Zakarian Rutstein is a renowned classical pianist and music educator. She was born on August 22, 1959, in Yerevan, Armenia, to a family of musicians. Her father, Levon Zakarian, was a prominent conductor, and her mother, Armine Zakarian, was a pianist. Sedmara showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Sedmara's family moved to Moscow, Russia, when she was six years old, and she continued her music education at the Central Music School for Gifted Children.
