Role:ConductorJerzy Katlewicz was born on May 15, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Jerzy showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. As a child, Jerzy was enrolled in the prestigious Fryderyk Chopin Music School in Warsaw, where he received his formal training in classical piano. He quickly distinguished himself as a prodigious talent, winning numerous competitions and awards throughout his youth. In 2003, Jerzy was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where he continued his studies under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax. During his time at Juilliard, Jerzy honed his skills as a performer and composer, and began to develop his own unique style and voice. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Jerzy embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist, performing at some of the world's most prestigious venues and festivals. He quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso performer, known for his technical precision and emotional depth. One of Jerzy's most memorable performances came in 2010, when he was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms. His performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 was hailed as a triumph, earning him a standing ovation from the audience and critical acclaim from music critics. In addition to his work as a performer, Jerzy has also made a name for himself as a composer. His compositions have been performed by some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles, and have been praised for their originality and beauty. Throughout his career, Jerzy has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to classical music. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for the future. He has also been awarded the Chopin Prize, the Rubinstein Prize, and the Tchaikovsky Prize, among others. Despite his success, Jerzy remains humble and dedicated to his craft.
