Petra Somlai is a Hungarian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a talented violinist and chamber musician. Born on May 22, 1987, in Budapest, Hungary, Petra showed an early interest in music and began playing the violin at the age of six. Her parents, both musicians themselves, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Petra's early musical education was at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest, where she studied under the guidance of renowned violinist Eszter Perényi. She later went on to study at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in violin performance. During her time at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Petra had the opportunity to work with some of the most distinguished musicians in the world, including György Kurtág, Ferenc Rados, and András Keller. These experiences helped shape her musical style and gave her a deep appreciation for the art of chamber music. Petra's talent as a violinist quickly became apparent, and she began to receive invitations to perform at major music festivals and concerts around the world. In 2009, she was invited to perform at the prestigious Salzburg Festival, where she played alongside renowned pianist András Schiff. She has also collaborated with some of the most distinguished musicians in the world, including cellist Steven Isserlis, pianist Dénes Várjon, and violinist Isabelle Faust.
