Daniel Batchelar was a British classical music composer who lived from 1700 to 1760. He was born in London, England, and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a lutenist, and his mother was a singer. From a young age, Batchelar showed a talent for music, and he began studying the lute and composition under his father's guidance. As a teenager, Batchelar began performing in public, and he quickly gained a reputation as a skilled lutenist. In 1728, Batchelar left the Duke of Chandos's service and returned to London, where he continued to perform and compose. One of Batchelar's most significant contributions to classical music was his role in popularizing the lute as a solo instrument.
