Talia Amar was born on May 12, 1985, in Tel Aviv, Israel. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Talia showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. She later learned to play the violin and the cello, and by the age of 12, she had already composed her first piece of music. Talia's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She attended the Tel Aviv Music Academy, where she studied composition under the guidance of renowned composer Avner Dorman. She also studied piano with Yossi Reshef and cello with Hillel Zori. During her time at the Tel Aviv Music Academy, Talia composed several works that received critical acclaim. Her piece "Three Miniatures for Piano" was performed at the Israel Festival in 2003, and her "String Quartet No. 1" was premiered by the Aviv Quartet in 2005. Her works were praised for their originality and emotional depth, and Talia quickly gained a reputation as one of Israel's most promising young composers. After completing her studies at the Tel Aviv Music Academy, Talia moved to the United States to pursue a master's degree in composition at the Juilliard School in New York City. During her time at Juilliard, Talia continued to compose works that showcased her unique voice as a composer. Her "Concerto for Cello and Orchestra" was premiered by the Juilliard Orchestra in 2009, and her "Piano Trio No. 2" was performed by the Juilliard Trio in 2010. Her works were praised for their intricate harmonies, rich textures, and emotional depth. After completing her master's degree, Talia moved back to Israel and began working as a freelance composer. She quickly established herself as one of the country's most sought-after composers, with her works being performed by some of Israel's top orchestras and ensembles. One of Talia's most notable works is her "Symphony No. 1," which was commissioned by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in 2012. The piece is a powerful exploration of the human experience, with each movement representing a different aspect of life.
