Daniel Livesay is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on May 12, 1985, in New York City, Daniel showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. His parents, who were both music enthusiasts, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion. Daniel's musical journey began with his enrollment in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he received rigorous training in piano performance. He continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. During his time at Juilliard, Daniel studied under the tutelage of renowned pianists such as Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jerome Lowenthal, and Robert McDonald. After completing his undergraduate studies, Daniel went on to pursue his Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music. There, he studied with Boris Berman, a world-renowned pianist and pedagogue. Daniel's time at Yale was marked by numerous accolades, including the Elizabeth Parisot Prize for outstanding pianistic achievement. Daniel's talent and hard work paid off when he won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2013. The competition, which is held every four years, is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. Daniel's performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30, earned him the top prize, which included a cash award of $50,000 and numerous performance opportunities.
