Sarah Weaver is a renowned composer, conductor, and performer in the field of contemporary classical music. Born in 1972 in the United States, Weaver grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. She began playing the piano at the age of five and later learned to play the flute and saxophone. Weaver received her Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from the University of North Texas in 1994. She then went on to earn a Master of Music degree in composition from the University of California, San Diego in 1997. During her time at UCSD, Weaver studied with renowned composers such as Roger Reynolds and Chaya Czernowin. After completing her studies, Weaver began to establish herself as a composer and performer in the contemporary classical music scene. She has written numerous works for various ensembles, including chamber groups, orchestras, and electronic ensembles. Her compositions often incorporate elements of improvisation and explore the boundaries between acoustic and electronic sound. In addition to her work as a composer, Weaver is also an accomplished conductor.
