Artist Info
Ranveig Helen Lægreid is a Norwegian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a soprano singer. She was born on May 22, 1985, in Bergen, Norway, to a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, so it was only natural that she would follow in their footsteps. Lægreid began her musical training at a young age, studying piano and singing. She showed a natural talent for singing and quickly became known for her beautiful voice. She continued her studies at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. After completing her studies, Lægreid began performing professionally, and her career quickly took off. She has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. One of Lægreid's most notable performances was at the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway. She was chosen to perform alongside artists such as Florence and the Machine, Colbie Caillat, and Herbie Hancock. Her performance was widely praised, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. Lægreid has also won several awards for her performances, including the prestigious Queen Sonja International Music Competition in 2011. She was the first Norwegian to win the competition, which is held every two years and is open to singers from around the world. In addition to her performances, Lægreid is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Grieg Academy in Bergen and has given masterclasses in singing around the world. She is passionate about passing on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians. Lægreid's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from opera to lieder to contemporary works. She is known for her powerful and expressive voice, which has been described as "captivating" and "mesmerizing." Despite her success, Lægreid remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work hard and strive for excellence in everything she does. She is a true inspiration to aspiring musicians around the world.More....
