Rosemary Hodgson is a renowned classical guitarist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. She was born in Sydney, Australia, in 1959, and grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a jazz pianist, and her mother was a classical pianist. Hodgson started playing the guitar at the age of 12 and quickly developed a passion for the instrument. Hodgson's talent was evident from an early age, and she began performing in public at the age of 14. She studied with some of the best guitarists in Australia, including John Mills and Timothy Kain. In 1978, she won the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Young Performer of the Year Award, which helped to launch her career. Hodgson's international career began in 1980 when she won the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America Competition. This competition is one of the most important guitar competitions in the world, and winning it is a significant achievement.
