She was born into a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father being a violinist. From a young age, Alice was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. She showed a natural talent for music and quickly became a prodigy. Alice's parents recognized her talent and began to nurture it. They enrolled her in the Central Music School in Moscow, where she received a rigorous musical education. Alice excelled in her studies and won numerous competitions, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in 1994. In 1996, Alice and her family moved to the United States, where she continued her musical education at the Juilliard School in New York City. She studied under the renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007. After graduating from Juilliard, Alice began to establish herself as a soloist and chamber musician. She performed in numerous concerts and recitals throughout the United States and Europe, including performances at Carnegie Hall and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2010, Alice won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas. The competition is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world and is known for launching the careers of many successful pianists. Alice's win at the Van Cliburn Competition catapulted her to international fame. She began to receive invitations to perform with major orchestras around the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to her solo career, Alice is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Together, they have performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Alice has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Beethoven's Piano Concertos with the London Symphony Orchestra. Her recordings have received numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo in 2015.
