Laurène Durantel is a French double bass player and composer who has made a name for herself in the world of contemporary classical music. Born in 1983 in Nantes, France, Durantel began playing the double bass at the age of 11. She quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with some of the best teachers in France. Durantel's early musical education was focused on classical music, but she soon became interested in other genres as well. She began exploring jazz, rock, and experimental music, and started to develop her own unique style. In 2003, she moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where she continued to expand her musical horizons. After completing her studies, Durantel began performing with a variety of ensembles and orchestras, both in France and abroad.
